Job Description:	Provide operational support to the biodiesel plant laboratory. Duties, Responsibilities & Training: Under the direction of the QA Manager: 1. Observing all local, state and federal regulations on health, safety & environment. Observing all established plant and lab safety practices 2. Perform routine wet and instrumental chemistry analyses in accordance with established analytical methods and laboratory operating procedures. 3. Prepare standards, perform calculations and calibrate instruments. 4. Operate quality control system by entering data, observing control charts, maintaining system, and taking appropriate action regarding control of methods and their affect on sample results. 5. Review standardization, quality control and sample analytical data for accuracy. 6. Review, release and record sample results. 7. Prepare and ship samples as needed. 8. Maintain sample retain system. 9. Maintain inventory of lab equipment, parts and chemicals including reordering as necessary. 10. Perform maintenance of lab equipment and keep maintenance records as directed. 11. Assist with collecting samples in the plant as directed. 12. Engage in various on-going training as appropriate and required. 13. Coordinate with plant operators as requested as necessary to optimize performance. 14. Be available and flexible to work overtime and to cover sickness & vacations of other lab techs. 15. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by HPB management. Education & Experience: 1. College degree (2-year Associates or higher) in a science discipline. 2. Aptitude with: a. Mathematics b. Laboratory work c. Mechanical work d.
