Title	Plant Safety Coordinator

Salary Range:	To $90,000 +
Education:	BS Occupational Safety preferred

Job Description:	COMMENTS: plant is actually 3 operating entities: wet corn mill, dry corn mill and a coal fired energy center........It is a Union plant with 215 employees. RESPONSIBILITIES: Safety Coordinator will administer the plant safety programs and will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing policies, procedures, and work practices that eliminates or controls workplace hazardous conditions which may lead to injury or property damage. Conduct location safety audits to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations. Conducts safety orientations for all new hires. Trains supervisors and hourly employees on facility safety programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, emergency evacuations, and ensures records of such programs are properly completed and retained. EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years industry experience, preferably in a production setting. Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety regulations. Strong skills in the training and development of employees. Ability to investigate and make sound decisions with information available. Ability to both implement and maintain programs for continuous safety improvement.
